How to Play Hangman

Hangman is the classic word-guessing game that you likely played back in school with paper and pen. When playing online, there are a few more rules and more structure. Each round begins with a topic and a hidden word. You get to see how many letters are in the word, and you have a list of letters on the board to choose from.

Letters are guessed by clicking them one at a time. Each correct letter gives 10 points, and completing a level rewards 2 diamonds. Diamonds can also be used to reveal a letter if you get stuck.

Every wrong guess adds a part to the stick figure, starting with the rope, then the head, body, arms, and finally the legs. Once the final leg is drawn, the game is over. This gives seven total chances to guess the correct letters before losing.

Each word belongs to a topic. These are examples of the kinds of topics you may see:

• Mythology
• School supplies
• Verbs
• Animals
• Household items
• Kitchen tools
• Professions
• Body parts
• Clothes

The game includes multiple levels. If you fail a level, you are sent back to the previous one, so progress depends on consistent, correct guesses. Hints can be used by pressing the hint button, which fills in letters automatically, but hints require jewels. Use them carefully, since another hint cannot be used until enough jewels are earned again.

Try to guess the word before the stick figure is fully drawn.

Tip

Start with the vowels. Just about every word will have a vowel, and there are so few of them that you are likely to get one on the board pretty quickly.
